Birds are on the move and actively feeding. The weather is going to continue to get colder forcing the waterfowl to consume more food for fuel and warmth. Over the past few days we have had a small cold snap followed by warm clear days. Lots of Mallards will be spending the night in the field eating under the light of the full moon. When situations like this present themselves its a good bet to hunt over water in the morning. After eating all night the birds are looking for a safe place to rest in the mornings before returning to the fields to eat. For the next few days I recommend duck hunting over water in the AM or field hunting mid-day till sunset. Remember to keep an eye on the moon cycle, not just the weather. Good luck and happy hunting.
