Hump Day Tying Night is Tonight 6-8PM at the Shop!

Tonight kicks off the first Hump Day Tying night for the season.  Each hump day will begin with a quick tying demonstration. Tonight we will cover a twenty incher stone.   After the demo, the floor is open to tie whatever you would like, or ask questions about any pattern you would like to tie.  Bring your vices!

South Platte Stonefly Tying Demo 12-1PM.

The classroom portion of this week’s learning center will feature a slide presentation  covering  river entomology and fly selection for the South Platte.  Following the presentation will be a tying demo from 12-1 covering commonly fished stoneflies on the South Platte such as Mercer’s Golden Stone, and Pat’s Rubber Legs.

Slide and video presentation on how and when you can better find opportunities to fish dry flies through the winter on the South Platte.  Following this presentation there will be a  tying demonstration for commonly used winter dry flies.

Stop by the shop this Friday for a free casting lesson from 10-2PM. We will also be having a hog roast to bring in the Holiday season if you didn’t eat enough a day before on Thanksgiving!

NEW AT Minturn Anglers: GUIDED ICE FISHING!

This winter we will be offering an entirely new type of trip on the hard water!  Ice fishing is an extremely fun and extremely productive way to fish some of our lakes through the winter in a heated hut with your best fishing buddies, friends, and/or family. If you haven’t been on the ice you really need to give it a try! If you don’t have ice fishing gear, we provide everything for the days outing.  The ice fishing season will begin in December as soon as we have safe ice.

LEARN HOW TO TIE FLIES FOR FREE!


Every Sunday Afternoon 4-6PM

The purpose of this class is to teach you how to tie trout flies.   We will be offering this class every Sunday afternoon at Minturn Anglers beginning the first Sunday of November and running through the end of March. We will go over tools and materials used in tying flies, how to use them, and how to whip finish. You will walk away with a fly you have tied that we all use on a regular basis.

One-on-One Tying Lessons
$125 Store Credit for Tying Materials
Schedule at Your convenience!

If you are interested in becoming an accomplished fly tier you can sign up for a 1-on-1 tying class. This class can be scheduled at your convenience seven days a week.  The cost for this class is $125.00 and each person who registers will receive a $125.00 store credit that can be used to purchase fly tying tools, hooks, materials, or fly tying books. In other words the class is free if you buy your materials and tools from us. This one-on-one tying lesson is 3 hours and covers nymphs, streamers, and dry flies.
