Front Range Fishing Reports |
Deckers
Don’t make the drive, the roads are closed to Deckers! We’ve officially seen the most water on the South Platte than any of our guides (even the old heads) have ever seen. Time will tell what lies in store for the Summer. Bridges need to be checked for safety, roads need to be reclaimed, etc. Stay optimistic, the river is dropping slowly. Pray for sun and get ready for a late Summer bonanza with big fish tries to make up for lost meals.
Arkansas River
Same story goes for the Ark… You can fish in the headwaters but Pueblo is blown to crap. Stick to stillwaters and small creeks. Stillwater Whether it’s trout you are after, wiper, bass or blue gill; the local lakes and ponds are the place to be right now. The Damselfly bite is heating up and streamers have consistently caught every species this week. Whether you are keeping it local like the Pinery or Salibury Ponds or you are headed out for a little cruise like Aurora or Chatfield, bring an arsenal of flies and tips or lines you can fish at different sink rates depending on the bugs and the time of day you are fishing!
11 Mile Canyon Our last saving grace has jumped exponentially over the week. From 300cfs to 700cfs to 1100cfs. It’s a little unsafe for wading and with people swimming when they mean to fish this time of year, we certainly recommend steering clear and just fishing creeks and stillwater.

IFFF Fly Tying Skills Award Program – Thursday June 25th |
||
Come participate in Parker on June 25th – 7pm!
This is an incredible program put on by The International Federation of Fly Fishers that encourages members to develop and improve their fly tying skills at their own pace through a structured learning plan with progressive goals.
The Awards Program is managed for and on behalf of the Fly Tying Group of the IFFF. Three awards (i.e. Bronze, Silver and Gold) are offered for demonstrated skill in fly tying that require submittal of fly collection for evaluation and review. Each collection is of increasing diversity and complexity of tying methods.
