Abel’s new Hybrid Hemostat has broken the mold on traditional clamps
These USA made hemostats are the greatest thing since sliced bread and come with a lifetime warranty.
I’ve been waiting patiently for Abel to ship their new hemostats our way and immediately got my hands on a pair to beat the rush. After using them for a few weeks, I am convinced these hemostats are going to take over the market and quickly become a guide and fish bum favorite. These hemostats fit perfectly in your hand, hold hooks and smash barbs effortlessly and have a unique locking system you can use with wet hands and gloves. The locking system is the best feature on this bad boy by far. Slide the lock up to take out your hook, squeeze the hemos once to release. Easy! Like all things Abel, you can get these gorgeous fishing hemostats with 18 different finishes. Whether you like a standard finish or a fish print, Abel has hemostats to fit your style.
As much as we like to look sharp on the water, the most important part about a quality Abel product is, well, it’s quality! These tools are framed out of 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum and 17-4 ph stainless steel and weighs the same as a liter of cola (literally). Other features include an ergonomic grip, a quick locking mechanism, and for the guides reading this – replaceable jaws! Speaking of jaws, the Abel Hybrid Hemostat is more than capable of pulling a 2/0 hook out of a Dorado in Argentina or smashing the barb on a size 22 midge while fishing the Colorado River.
At $125, you can’t go wrong with Abel’s Hybrid Hemostat. They were made to last a lifetime and with the way we burn through hemos here at Minturn Anglers, we probably each pay that every few years in replacements alone. Not anymore!
