How To Tie An Albright Knot
In this video  Alvin DeDeaux demonstrates how to tie an Albright Knot. The Albright Knot is our prefered method of attaching fly line to backing.  Many people will use a Knail Knot, but for the once in a lifetime chance you will get to see your backing, you want the strongest knot which is the Albright. We Also use the albright for attaching two drastically different diameters of tippet.  For those that like to chase pike, a standard setup is to run 20lb monofilament to a 20 inch piece of bite guard material.  The best way to adjoin these two materials is with the Albright.

Quick Tip: This knot takes a little practice and training your fingers to work right.  If you still can’t get it, swing by the shop and we will help you!

Alvin is a good friend of the shop and guide in Texas.  For those seeking guided fly fishing trips and fly casting lessons in Central TX, he is your guy.  Alvin has over over twenty years of Texas Hill Country fly fishing experience  from bass to trout and everything in between. www.alvindedeaux.com
