Amy’s Ant
This is the hopper to replace all hoppers developed by Jack Dennis!  I first fell in love with Amy a few summers back while guiding the South Platte through Deckers.  Amy’s can float some serious wait underneath on a dry dropper set up, and has a way of bringing fish up like no other terrestrial I’ve ever fished.  I believe it is in large part due to the sparkle in the chenille and the flash in the wing.  Amy’s is  commonly fished in Olive and tan, but chose to show you Amy’s  good lookin’ counter-part in the Black and red.

Thread: UTC 140 or 6/0 Olive or black to match body
Underbody: 2mm Tan or Red Foam
Overbody: 2mm Brown or Black Foam
Legs: Medium Brown round rubber
Hackle: Brown on the Olive version, grizzly on the Red one
Body: Olive or red Krystal Chenille
Underwing: Rainbow Krystal Flash
Overwing: Elk Hair
Thorax: Ice Dub to match chenille color
