Eagle River The Eagle River is running at 170CFS and beautiful weather has extended the bug season. Trout are being caught on a variety of patterns from Pat’s Rubber Legs to Vis-A-Dun Baetis. The Eagle is seeing far less pressure than it’s seen all Summer so head on up to the mountains and catch some browns and ‘bows!
Colorado River
If you’re fishing the Colorado River, don’t hesitate to try your egg rigs to compliment your streamers. We are fishing a lot of bigger things at this point for those trout fattening up for the spawn and Winter. Gore Creek Gore Creek is clear and low but still fishing well. Fine tippet and small bugs have gotten the most fish but if you don’t mind covering water, try some small streamers in each pocket. It’s always good for at least a look!

Front Range Fishing Reports |
![]() Deckers
Get your floatant and light leaders, Tricos and Baetis are still the ticket! Dry fly activity remains productive from the early morning through the afternoon. If nymphing is your favorite approach, eggs are starting to catch the eye of the rainbows and browns. PLEASE avoid the spawning beds at all times! Dream Stream
The salmon and brown trout are in and so are the people. Shoot for weekdays to avoid the crowds and stick to the deeper pools for your best chances of hooking toads. Mayfly and midge patterns will catch resident trout and the occasional brown but stick to worms, leeches, eggs and beads for the big browns and salmon. Streamers work well in low light situations as well! Warm Water We are getting towards the end of the warm water season, so get on out to your local lake or pond and end the season on a high note! Carp and Bass are fattening up for the winter and colder air temps this week will drop lake temps quickly providing for very aggressive fish. Streamers are the ticket in all your natural colors – olive, white, brown and black. Fish are staging a little further out but don’t be surprised to find fish close to the shore where hoppers and other terrestrials are living out their final days.
