Doug was raised in Bozeman, Montana. He attended Montana State University (or Trout U) where he graduated with a biological sciences degree. He has been fly fishing for 18 years. Doug grew up fishing and guiding the wild, free stone rivers of Montana, like the Yellowstone, the Madison, and the Big Hole. In 2014, he moved himself to Vail, Colorado and fell in love with the Eagle and Colorado Rivers.
Doug has been a life long teacher, especially of children. He has a meticulous approach for having fun and catching fish. He thinks there is always something to learn out on the river.
