Small Flies and Big Fish

Get out the threaders and Ty-Rite’s, small (sz 20-24) Midges and Baetis are on the menu all day everyday with dry fly opportunities in the evening around 4:00pm. Don’t worry about sleeping in a little bit, the fishing picks up around 11:00am daily once the sun hits the river and the midges get active. Your best opportunities are subsurface and a lot of bigger fish are being caught. The big browns are out in the open taking care of “business” but those that aren’t on the redds yet are loving our JuJu Baetis. Speaking of redds, please be careful and respectful of the spawning brown trout. Careful wading and PLEASE don’t fish over spawning fish!
