Eagle River

Open water, eating fish, great air temps. What else can you ask for? The Eagle River has continued to fish well all Winter and our Facebook page and our guide’s instagram pages will prove it! Our favorite freestone is fishing well all throughout but particularly in the stained lower stretches of Wolcott and below. Attractor flies followed by small nymphs have been doing the most damage but a streamer at the right time of day has been turning fish as well. The roads are great, the ice on the stream is missing, if you live in the Front Range, come on up!!!

Gore Creek
Tons of open water on this Rocky Mountain gem this winter and the fish are letting us know it. Plan on covering water and using lighter tippet (except on your small streamers). Your typical winter patterns are doing the trick but don’t hesitate to throw something different, maybe your own pattern! Fish are curious beasts and don’t have hands so they try things out with their mouth. Introduce the curious fish to some steel!

Colorado River

Minturn Anglers was first on the Colorado River this year with a few fun floats this week. With no shelf ice and active fish, get your butt up to Pumphouse for wade or float fishing. Most fish were taken on deep nymph rigs but a few risers were spotted and opportunistic fish took slow stripped streamers.  When the sun is shining, make hay! If you’re itchin’ to get back on the sticks, the Colorado River is the place to be.

Our Idaho Steelhead Trip continues…
Due to incredible fishing and popular demand, we are still taking single day and multiple day reservations for float trips on the Clearwater River in Idaho. Our crew is up there and pounding steelhead (see our Facebook page) so we’d love to have you! Prices are appropriate, fishing is phenomenal… why aren’t you in Idaho?!?!
