The Salt
Guide Jeff Lyon recently sent us a pic of his latest catch and we figured it should make the weekly report.  BIG CUDA!

South Platte
The water has been a little “funky” and the bite has slowed down substantially as of late through town.  Deckers remains steady and flows have recently increased to around 200!  For those who’ve been paying attention in class you know what that means…..Rubberlegs!  We recieved a fly shipment today of all the big and dirty water stuff and the bins are overfilling.  Swing by and stock up on your cat-poo for spring.

Bear Creek, Clear Creek
Good action on dries this week on both of our local creeks.  Parachute Adams type flies in 16-18 are keeping the 3wt rods bent.

Poudre River
Our Ft. Collins crew has been having some pretty epic days as of late on the poudre.  Lots of fish (and big fish) coming up to eat BWO’s.

Warm Water: Wiper
Got my first reel tug April 1 on a wiper out at bingham.  I was messing around with a 5wt and really didn’t have the backbone to drive it home.  The weather has been ideal for wiper lately and the wind has been blowing the right way for a while now.  I expect a great wiper season!

The Rest of the West
Good Reports  still coming from the West Slope and Grey Reef this week.  The Roaring Fork and eagle have been on fire with eggs, twenty inchers and larger size midge and BWO nymphs.  Flows on the reef have recently touched 3,800 but the fish are certainly on the feed.  Typical Grey reef smorgasbord of eggs, leaches, red annelids, scuds and lots of midges. BWO’s are starting to show as well.  Through the month of April, Minturn Anglers Denver fly shop manager  will be guiding for St. Pete’s Fly Shop on the Reef as part of their spring special.  $350 full day float trips the entire month!  Give us a shout at 720-851-4665 for availability if you want to do a day on the Reef.
