Eagle River
The Eagle River is running at 170CFS and fishing like a dream. Egg patterns have made their way back into the rotation and large streamers have produced some big trout. If nymphing is your preferred technique, BWO and midge patterns will draw some attention as well as your bigger stonefly patterns.
Colorado River
If you’re fishing the Colorado River, don’t hesitate to try your egg rigs to compliment your streamers. We are fishing a lot of bigger things at this point for those trout fattening up for the spawn and Winter. Gore Creek Gore Creek is fishing well when it’s not mudded up from the recent weather. Drift some egg patterns and string leeches to grab the trouts attention but don’t be afraid to try some small dries if you find a few sipping in the slower pools.

Front Range Fishing Reports |
![]() Deckers
Cooler nights and shorter days has the brown trout population spawning. Bugs will always catch fish but now is the time to start pegging beads, fishing egg patterns and trying some big streamers for angry trout. Try the Canyon when the flows are up and PLEASE don’t fish to spawning fish and always be careful wading in shallow riffles! Dream Stream
The salmon and brown trout are in and so are the people. Shoot for weekdays to avoid the crowds and stick to the deeper pools for your best chances of hooking toads. Mayfly and midge patterns will catch resident trout and the occasional brown but stick to worms, leeches, eggs and beads for the big browns and salmon. Streamers work well in low light situations as well! Warm Water
Bass and carp fishing has remained productive through the Fall as temps drop, days shorten and fish are trying to fatten up. Hit your local pond or reservoir with natural colored streamers or crayfish patterns for your best success.
