Alaska Fall Steelhead Recap

In a few words: TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
After over a week of steelhead fishing in South Central Alaska, we left with smiles on our faces, steelhead stink on our hands and endless pictures of the fishing and scenery. The best day by far was a float trip with 14 steelhead landed out of 18 hooked. Silver Salmon and Dolly Varden were biting as well and provided non-stop action every day of the week. Don’t miss out next year, whatever you do!

Colorado Skies and Minturn Anglers Unite!

Both Colorado Skies and Minturn Anglers are happy to announce our merger as one company, Minturn Anglers. Call the Denver location “Mile High Minturn” or “Minturn Anglers South”, regardless of the name it will still be the same faces, same great service and a better selection of product and fishing trips! We are all very excited about this and you should be too. More details to come…

Our Minturn Location is gettin’ a make over!

Please excuse the noise and sawdust as we work on a make over and expansion of our Minturn location (102 Main St). We are doubling in size here which means double the Patagonia, Sage, Scott, Winston, Rio, Fishpond, Free Fly and fly tying material just to name a few. This is just the start so expect many more fun additions to come!

Conservation Corner

It’s that time of year and our friend, the brown trout is getting ready to reproduce. Regardless of where you are fishing, take a good look at this photo and if you see anything like this in your local brown trout stream, please avoid it. A cleaned out shallow gravel stretch of river is where the trout are gettin’ busy! Don’t fish over these trout or cross the river within 15 yards of the redd. Thanks!
