11/21 /13 Grey Reef Fishing Report: Fishing has been borderline ridiculous on the Reef. Seams the entire brown trout population has entered the upper 13 to this fall. This is Possibly due to the sediment load that has buried some of the spawning habitat in the lower river. Whatever the case, we aren’t complaining! Streamflows & River Conditions: The North Platte River From Grey Reef Dam to Casper, WY. Grey Reef is fishing extremely well at the moment. The calm days have tons of fish up eating BWO’s if your into that sorta thing. Browns starting to push to the heads of runs & the weeds are thinning on the upper 13 miles. fly fishing the N. LATEST GREY REEF FISHING REPORT, NEWS & UPDATES | 11/21/13: We have hooked more brown trout between Grey Reef and Lusby in the last week then we have in the entire year combined! Get up here!11/13/13 Grey Reef Fishing Report: Fishing has been borderline ridiculous on the Reef. Seams the entire brown trout population has entered the upper 13 to this fall. This is Possibly due to the sediment load that has buried some of the spawning habitat in the lower river. Whatever the case, we aren’t complaining!10/25/13: Grey Reef to Lusby has remained fishable through most of the heavy rains we’ve been experiencing, and fish are eating junk (leeches, worms, crawdads) or streamers. At the moment the river below Government bridge is fishable once again! Seeing lots of brown show up in the heads of runs! All and all, life is good on the Reef!10/2/13: With flows recently dropped to 50 CFS o the Dream Stream, I’m really looking forward to this next month on the North Platte. Simply no where in the lower 48 like it. Big fish, no crowds consistently unbelievable fishing. Browns should be finding there way to the net more and more in the next couple weeks on Grey Reef & the rest of the N. Platte.4/15/13: Pretty easy fishing on Grey Reef at the moment. Tons of fish, pretty strait forward hatch patterns & feeding windows. A 6mm troutbead, with a #8-10 PSL leech will get it done from the boat. If you’re wading, that might do it the first few times through the run, but after that you might need to drop the leech and throw a little bit of tech. BWO nymphs such as a purple jujubaetis #18 or Foam wing RS2. | ||||||||||||||||||
