Have you ever wanted to turn your fishing passion into a career?
Becoming a fly fishing guide is a great way to make a living doing something that you love, but for most aspiring fishing guides getting started is the hardest part.
Minturn Anglers is offering a truly unique 5 day guide school this year in two sessions, May 12th – 16th and June 2nd – 6th. Our Wade Fly Fishing Guide School focuses on everything you need to become a sucessful fly fishing guide whether it is in The Vail Valley or the Mid-Atlantic. Each session is Monday through Friday from 8am – 4pm. The starting times are flexible during the week depending on fishing conditions. If you are looking to become a guide for Minturn Anglers, attendance each day is mandatory!
Most guide schools focus on either float certification ( which is only good for the state you get it in,) or guiding outside the lower 48. The Minturn Anglers guide school is the only program that teaches everything you need to become an exceptional fly fishing guide on any freshwater lake or river in the lower 48, no matter how challenging the fishing is.
The Minturn Anglers recipe for sucessful guiding includes all aspects of fly fishing, guest service, and most importantly making sure your future clients have as much fun as possible on the water. We welcome any fly angler regardless of age or ability to participate in our fly fishing guide school.
Upon completion, all guides with a passing score will have an opportunity to guide wade trips for Minturn Anglers. The cost of our Wade Guide School is $800 per person (lodging and meals not included). $400 will be charged 30 days in advance. Participants must bring their own fly fishing rod, reel, pack and terminal tackle. Please scroll down to see the daily syllabus for our Wade Fly Fishing Guide School!
