The Scientific Anglers Skagit Extreme line is built to provide maximum payload in the shortest lines. Its our go to sink tip fishing line here at Minturn Anglers.

SA has built this line on a braided multifilament core with a fast loading front taper designed for maximum flight time and allows the angler to throw the heaviest tips to distances far greater than ever thought. This line is the best line for throwing big tips and flies, yet allowing for the best loops.

It comes in line sizes to match up on the lightest switch rods up to the biggest spey rods anyone could need. The Skagit extreme also comes in 4 different options for any given angler and to match up with what ever they could need.

The first option is just a floating head, no sink tips included or a running line. This line comes in at $53.95.

Second, it comes as an intermidate head. This line is a very cool line in the aspect it sinks very slow, settling just underneath the surface getting out of tricky currents. A must have for anyone fishing for winter steelhead or Great Lakes Steelhead. Also a great line for here in Colorado when fishing rivers with a lot of different currents. A by product of this line is you will not have to fish as heavy of sink tip to get down to where the fish are. The cost of this line is $55.00

Third, it comes as a mulit-tip version, it comes with 4 tips in a wallet with a mono running line. The tips included in this kit are a floater, intermediate, Type III and a Type VI. The sink rates are 1.5 to 2 ips on the intermediate, 3 to 5 ips on the Type III and 6-8 ips on the Type VI tip. This is truly a versatile line system and depending on the grain weight the tips are from 10 to 15 feet in length. The cost of this system is $135.00

Finally, it comes as a fully intergrated line, running line to sink tip.  This line is great for the aspect it has no loop to loop connections between the running line, head or sink tip. The tip on this line is T-12 (6-7 ips sink rate) and depending on the grain weight will be 10 to 15 feet in length. This line system is great for the new angler and experienced angler a like, it takes a lot of the guess work out of sink tips or the hassle of carring them. The cost of this line is $86.95.

The colors of 3 out of the 4 lines are the same, the intermediate head is the only different one in a blue color.
