The new M-series of rods from Scott Fly Rod Company are the highest of quality built graphite rods on the market today.  This particular series of rods were spawned out of Scott’s Custom Shop, with componets and craftmanship usually reserved for the most high end split bamboo rods.
The freshwater rods come with beautiful blued nickel silver components, such as a custom reel seats. The wood used in the spacers are amboyna wood to really set the rod off. Next on the list of custom touches to these rods are real agate striping guides in hand made silver frames to add to the brillance of the layout of the rod. The cork grips are turned to their own unique shape out of the best Flor grade Cork making them a joy to hold onto.
When you get to the saltwater rods, the reel seats are also custom with a type 3 hard coated anodized aluminum that feature self aligning hoods. The guides are also come in at a special configuration being made out of titanium, Recoil snake guides for added durablity.
Depending on the weight of the rod, Scott had two different ferrule designs. In the 3 to 5 weight rods they use their internal ferrule system; much like that on their famous G2 series. From weights spanning 6 to 10 Scott uses their sleeve ferrule system; like that used on the S4 and S4S lines.
The tapers used in these rods are slightly different from their main line brothers, due to the fact of using agate guides. They are absolutly a joy to cast, and will be an heriloom in your fishing quiver for generations to come.

See our Rio Trout LT review which is the fly line we recommend for the Scott M Series rod as well as the Scott G2.
