Front Range Fishing Reports |
Deckers
86 Cfs… a far cry from our Summer flows but the fishing remains consistently good. Longer leaders and lighter tippet will bring more fish to hand this week and your Tues to Thurs fishing days will give you the most solitude. Early morning is the best time to put on a dry fly but nymphing the seams will still produce the most fish. Fill your boxes with midges and small baetis but don’t hesitate to include a sz. 12-16 attractor in the mix. Dream Stream
With the holidays around the corner so expect more people competing for trophy browns with ya. Think outside the box, comb the banks for singles and drop backs in the lower section. The river spiked this week, encouraging the stubborn late bloomers so don’t be surprised if a few new fish are in there and hot to eat. Friendly reminder, PLEASE STAY OFF THE SPAWNING BEDS!!! Creeks
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, this next few weeks might be the last for a while so get out to your favorite small stream and enjoy some great end-of-Fall fishing. Anchor ice has started as well as shelves on the banks but this week’s agreeable temperatures really helped to keep water open. Don’t be surprised if you’re the only person brave enough to fish these creeks so please be safe and let someone know where you will be. Ice is slippery and can break under your feet if your brave enough to walk on it! |
