Fly Fishing the Vail Valley & Colorado River Drainage

Minturn Anglers is located directly between the towns of Vail and Beaver Creek, CO.  Over the years, they have worked together to form a pool of full-time guides from Denver and Vail that cannot be rivaled. With our combined staffs, you can rest assured that you will spend a day on the water with a seasoned Colorado fishing guide. Fly fishing in the Vail Valley is year round and can include either float or wade trips on the Blue River, Colorado River, Eagle River, Gore Creek, or Roaring Fork River.

Floating the Colorado, Eagle and Roaring Fork

colorado-river-float-trips-fly-fishingColorado River Float Trips combine great fishing, scenery and mild whitewater to form the best overall fly fly fishing experience that Colorado has to offer. The Eagle River is a high octane fly fishing experience for anglers that like the challenge of casting in whitewater to small pockets where large browns and rainbows are willing to eat dries and streamers. The Roaring Fork offers good freestone fishing from a boat from Basalt all the way to Glenwood Springs where it join’s the Colorado.
Tips for Choosing a Guide in Vail Valley and  Colorado Destination Areas…
Before booking a trip in any resort area, ask to speak directly to the guide who would be taking you out.  Ask questions such as, “Do you live in Colorado? How long have you been guiding for? Is guiding what you consider a full time occupation?”  If the answer is along the lines of,”I go to college in TX and wanted to guide in CO for the summer and took a guide school….” look elsewhere!
