Winter Fly Fishing in Colorado may seam foreign to some, while others of us can’t get enough of it.  The crowds are non existent, and the fishing can be outstanding.  We generally fish banker’s hours (arrive at 10, off by 3) in the cold months.  The best fishing in the winter will occur during the warmest parts of the days, and if temperatures get warm enough, you can expect prolific midge hatches throughout on many of our local waters.  More often than not though, we are nymphing deeper and slower runs, where fish tend to really pile up.  If you haven’t fished in the winter get out there and give it a try. Just remember there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!
